The loyalest companion
2010 — 2026
Max was more than just a dog; he was the heartbeat of our home. From the moment we brought him back from the shelter as a clumsy six-month-old pup, he made it his life's mission to ensure no one in the family ever felt alone.
He possessed an uncanny intuition, knowing exactly when you needed a gentle nudge from his wet nose or a heavy head resting on your lap. His tail wags were full-body affairs, capable of clearing coffee tables in a single sweep. He loved swimming in the lake, stealing socks (but never chewing them), and sleeping by the fireplace.
As he grew older and his muzzle turned gray, his pace slowed, but his devotion never wavered. We are profoundly grateful for the 16 years of unconditional love he gave us. The house feels impossibly quiet without the familiar click-clack of his paws on the hardwood floor.
"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."
"I'll miss his big goofy grin waiting for me at the window every time I pulled into the driveway. He was truly the best boy."
"Max was one of our favorite patients. Always brave, always gentle, even when he wasn't feeling his best. Sending love to the whole family."
